Two men died after the boom lift they were operating roughly 40 feet in the air tipped over shortly before 1 a.m. Tuesday, August. 5. The men were working at the World Financial Center in New York City and fell to the pavement after the lift toppled. They were pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. The men were identified by police as Robert Fabrizio, 35, of Las Vegas, NV and Garin Fabrizio, 37, of Milford, PA.

Authorities are investigating how the accident occurred.

The accident comes within a year of two men falling from a Manhattan skyscraper after scaffolding broke beneath them, and a year in which NYC has been peppered with construction-related fatalities.
