The new 10 tonne capacity Unic URW-1006 is claimed to be the world's strongest mini crane. It made its first official appearance at this year's Intermat exhibition in Paris, France, on 16 April.
The mini spider crane on crawler tracks offers a 30.7 metre lifting height and 24.3 m working radius. Its 2 m width when folded allows access to work in restricted spaces. An hydraulic luffing fly jib is an option on the six-section telescopic boom.
The URW-1006 offers 4 tonnes more capacity than the URW-706, Unic's former largest model. Target applications include glass installation and steel erection. Unlike other Unic spider cranes, the new model has a pick and carry duty allowing it to travel with a load up to 1.5 tonnes.
Features include configurable outriggers and a full safety interlock system for more stability when lifting on uneven surfaces. It has a Wylie i4500 safe load indicator, which gives operator feedback on a high-resolution colour LCD. Radio remote control, working area limitation and easy disassembly and reassembly are also features of the URW-1006.
Graeme Riley, Unic Cranes Europe chief executive officer, said, "Now we have the world's smallest and largest mini spider cranes in the Unic range, we can bring efficient and safe lifting solutions to an even wider breadth of industries."
Also making its debut at Intermat was aprototype of a wheeled version of the usual tracked mini cranes, called the Radial.
Unic Cranes Europe, part of GGR Group Ltd, is the European master distributor for Japanese manufacturer Furukawa Unic. It supplies mini spider cranes across a network of European dealers in 27 countries.
