Waste handling cranes head to Ireland

Konecranes UK, based in Scotland, will supply the waste to energy facility in County Meath, Ireland with two 9.5 tonne capacity waste handling GL WTE cranes.

Both cranes are fitted with 6.3 cubic metre capacity grabs and use Konecranes' range of DynA Invertor control on all motions. They will all be three shift fully automated and work on the same runway with a 26.5 m span. They can also be manually or semi automatic controlled when required.

The cranes will have Konecranes DynaPilot Anti-Sway system, which will automatically dampen sway and reduce operator fatigue, stress in structures and mechanical components.

It also allows bunker wall impacts with the grab to be avoided. For example, a grab that is swinging is taken out of operation automatically and grab damage through pit wall collision is avoided, removing the biggest source of downtime when collisions occur.

The order is being managed by the Ivander branch in Ireland, part of Indaver N.V. PM Group in Belgium. Management contractor P.M. group, in Ireland, will oversee the build.
