HBC-radiomatic has completed a project with Stahl CraneSystems to renovate two cranes at German Bundeswehr helicopter base in Fritzlar. The cranes were installed in 1937 and are now designated historic buildings but needed work to improve their safety. One of the solutions was make both cranes remotely operated. For this Stahl CraneSystems brought in HBC-radiomatic to design a customised control system.

Using its Multi Receiver Concept (MRC), HBC eliminated the use of unsightly cables by mounting two receivers on each crane.

“By mounting receivers to electronic circuits of each crane drive or component, trailing cables can be saved and maintenance time can be reduced. In this special case, two receivers are mounted on each crane,” explains the company.
