Xylem has produced its 4 millionth Flygt wastewater pump at its manufacturing facility in Sweden.

The pump will support the central pumping station in Muscat, Oman, which moves wastewater some 8 km to the Al Ansab treatment plant in the Middle Eastern state.

The 4 millionth 500 kw pump stands at 2.85 m high, weighs 5,300 kg, and has a capacity of 500 l per second at 66.9 m head. It also features Flygt´s monitoring system for operational safety, and accessible data review.

Mr. Saud Salim Ambusaidy, senior maintenance manager, Haya Water, said, “This central pumping station is a crucial part of the sewage system in Oman. We need reliable and robust pumps to ensure that we provide a dependable service. Since 2006, Xylem has supported us to do this and we are confident that the company will continue to facilitate an efficient water service into the future.”

The first Flygt pump was manufactured at Xylem’s factory in Emmaboda, Sweden. Xylem’s Flygt pumps are also produced at sites in China, India, the United States and Argentina.
