Finnish-based contractor YIT has signed multi-million euro area development project contract in the centre of Tikkurila in Vantaa, Finland.

The project will comprise five apartment buildings, with the first – named Vantaan Sarastus – beginning construction in October 2016. Vantaan Sarastus will include 130 apartments with a living area of approximately 5,800m². The apartment block is scheduled for completion in 2018 and will cost €30 million.

Valon kortteli – the second apartment block – will include 380 apartments with a living area of 16,800m². The total cost of Valon kortteli will be €90 million and is scheduled for completion in 2020.

Valon kortteli city block – which means the city block of light – will be given special attention to the lighting. YIT said the lighting designer for the project would focus on the lighting to the building facades and yards.
