WDS welcomes delegates from around the world

The 2023 World Demolition Summit (WDS) kicked off in Toronto, Canada, with the D&Ri team welcoming almost 450 leading demolition professionals from around the world to an evening drinks reception at the Westin Harbour Castle Hotel.

Guests from companies based in South America, Europe, Africa and North America attended the reception event, which also marked the 15th anniversary of the WDS, ahead of the event’s conference and awards ceremony.

Delegates and conference speakers from companies including Jet Demolition, Fabio Bruno, Manafort Bros, Robles1, Priestly Demolition, EDF, Ward Demolition, Tree, Demo Diva, Lloyd Nabors, Target Contractors, Delsan-AIM and more, were in attendance, with many of the guests accompanied by family members.

The US National Demolition Association’s (NDA) President, James Milburn, and the European Demolition Assocation’s President, Stefano Panseri were in attendence, along with Executive Director Margaret Taylor from the Ontario Association of Demolition Contractors (OADC) and representatives from construction union LiUNA. 

Representatives from some of the world’s leading demolition and construction equipment manufacturers, including Komatsu, Sennebogen, Steelwrist, Caterpillar, OilQuick and Demarec, were also guests at the reception, with the team from headline sponsor Volvo also bringing with them a mini excavator and a machine simulator.
