US-based Lombardi & Son Masonry has demonstrated its Lombardi Lift prototype for the first time.

The platform is designed to be attached to a standard boom as a replacement to the usual basket. Its design can form a U-shape, or even surround a vertical structure to provide 360 degree access.

The platform can be adjusted to surround various structure widths and depths, as well as having the ability to move vertically up and down them.

“Simultaneously accessing two or more sides of a structure with the Lombardi Lift minimizes the need to reposition the boom base during a job,” said Donald Lombardi, who designed and patented the Lombardi Lift: Versatile Aerial Work Platform, in 2007.

The product also holds an additional two US patents and one Canadian patent for its design. The prototype was constructed at Diversified Product Development, an engineering and manufacturing company specializing in heavy industrial equipment.

Lombardi & Son Masonry, LLC is a third generation family company specialising in brick and stone restoration and repairs and is located in Manchester by the Sea, Massachusetts and is also run by Luke Lombardi.
