OxBlue, a technology company based in Atlanta, Georgia in the US, and a supplier of professional construction camera services, announces the development of artificial intelligence (AI)-based technology for enhancing social distancing awareness on construction sites.
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) advises the best way to prevent illness and prevent the spread of Covid-19 is to avoid being exposed to the virus. The new technology uses artificial intelligence (AI) to determine when two or more people are in close proximity.
According to OxBlue, the technology has the potential to increase awareness and improve safety, and would be available to those looking for alternative ways to create social distancing awareness.
“With a global pandemic, harnessing the power of technology to solve the construction industry’s immediate challenges is our top priority at the moment,” said Chandler McCormack, CEO of OxBlue. “We want to make possible solutions that allow actionable insights and peace of mind.”
OxBlue’s AI capabilities for measuring construction activity levels have been validated based on field trials, the company said. The tool was originally developed to assist OxBlue clients in understanding construction activity on their projects. As the pandemic began to worsen, OxBlue began to analyse data at a national level in order to measure the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on construction activity levels across the United States.
