The Salini Impregilo Group has expanded its portfolio of work in Poland after being awarded a €239 million contract for the S7 highway.

It involves an 18.4km stretch of road 210km north of Warsaw between Milomlyn and Olsztynek, towards the Slovakian border.

As part of the scheme, there will be road improvements to the section of the S7 crossing the city of Ostroda and its bypass.

The route is located near a series of small interconnected lakes and waterways that have required an additional level of environmental planning.

Its development follows Salini’s work on other road schemes in Poland including the A1 and S8 expressway. The S8, an 8km route north of Warsaw, began last month.

Pietro Salini, chief executive of Salini Impregilo, said, “The award of new contracts on the S7 allows us to maintain a sizeable orders portfolio and constitutes a solid basis for the group’s growth in upcoming years.”
