Atlas Copco is close to completing the rebranding of its specialty compressed air and power rental businesses. The unified name for the business will be Atlas Copco Rental.

In the first phase, started in 2008, Atlas Copco added its name to the six independent rental companies that it had acquired. For example, Prime Energy in the US became Atlas Copco Prime Energy and Kolfor in the UK became Atlas Copco Kolfor.

In the final stage, which will be completed by the end of this year, all the rental operations are being rebranded Atlas Copco Rental.

Alongside the rebranding, the different locations and companies that make up the Specialty Rental division have increased their levels of cooperation. In the initial phase each of the rental companies pooled their equipment and specialist expertise, and they also restructured and adopted common working practices.

Atlas Copco said the final step of switching to the single Atlas Copco Rental brand "reflects the work done to ensure that the same levels of know-how are available to all markets, with the full global support of the Atlas Copco Customer Centres."

The company said that Atlas Copco Rental will operate under common environmental, health and safety and operational procedures.

"Re-branding our former independent rental companies into Atlas Copco Rental has been a strategic process," said Gathuru Mburu, vice president Specialty Rental division. "Our key aim is to offer the best possible service, 24/7. From initial enquiry through to the task completion it is our aim to always put the needs of our rental customers first."
