Responding to what it called “a race to electrification,” Italian manufacturer Benevelli has launched a new line of IPM electric motors systems targeted toward for off-highway equipment and electric vehicles.

The new SMAC Serie 270 is a range of electric motors rated 30 to 200 kW, available in voltages from 48 to 800 V. The series, which is based on a 270 mm diameter stator, incorporates four different motor lengths with and 24 winding configurations to accommodate various power classes. The motors are also available in air- and liquid-cooled configurations and IP6K9K protection is available.

Benevelli SMAC electric motor Benevelli has launched a new line of air-and liquid-cooled electric motors for off-highway equipment and electric vehicles.

SMAC Serie 270 is the first Benevelli e-motor range to provide this level of power density in low to high voltage, size and simplicity and it delivers massive torque almost instantly, which enhances drive response and results in smooth acceleration, the company said.

SMAC Serie 270 e-motors are engineered to be compact, lightweight and power dense for use in high-performance traction, power generation, electrohydraulic systems and other specialized high-power applications.

The entire line has a class F thermal rating, with epoxy-coated, double-insulated stators that the company said makes the motors durable and reliable in harsh working conditions.

“This year we turn 60 and we have been involved in electric mobility for more than 20 years, so we perfectly understand the requirements of electric drivetrains,” said Chief Operating Officer Alessandro Benevelli, whose company also produces transaxles, wheel drives and other electric motor types. “Our modular product portfolio enables us to offer tailored mass-production solutions to meet any customer requirement.

“Adding the SMAC 270 to our electric motor family bolsters our offerings and is an excellent example of Benevelli’s commitment to delivering state-of-the-art clean propulsion technologies that match market needs. We take tremendous pride that our solution is one of the most efficient and powerful systems ever to be developed for off-highway machines.”
