Chicago Pneumatic has launched a range of concreting equipment including vibrating pokers, walk-behind screeds, power trowels and asphalt and concrete floor saws.

The new equipment – built at factories in Bulgaria, India and China – joins Chicago Pneumatic’s existing product range of compressors, generators, lighting towers, pneumatic tools and compaction equipment.

The company said the range means that it has products covering all phases of a concreting project, including ground settlement, concrete pouring, site energy and demolition.

The pokers come in mechanical, electric or pneumatic versions, with the VPM mechanical models powered either by gasoline or diesel engines. The VPE electric pokers are designed for where electricity is available on site, and the VPP pneumatic pokers are powered by portable compressors.

The screen range, with Honda engines, includes the LBG 1200 hand-held screed for surface vibration only, and the LBG 800 is recommended for smaller slabs and medium-to-low slump concrete and provides deeper vibration and single-step levelling.

There are three STG power trowels: the STG 24 is a small power float edger intended for smaller slabs and finishing edges, especially in confined spaces and by walls, and the STG 36 and 46 are higher capacity trowels for larger slabs.

The final products in the new range are concrete and asphalt floor saws with maximum cutting depths of 150 mm. They can cut asphalt for road maintenance, or act as an alternative to a jack hammer. Both gasoline and diesel models are available.

Andrew Cope, vice president for business development at Chicago Pneumatic said; ”[the range] gives our customers a great opportunity to improve productivity throughout their concrete projects. Productivity gains arise because the operator can always find the right tool for the job, whether it’s vibrating, levelling, finishing or cutting.”
