Johnson Crane Hire adds Liebherr LTM 1070-4.2

Crane rental company Johnson Crane Hire, in South Africa, has purchased a Liebherr LTM 1070-4.2 mobile crane. The handover took place during the Bauma show in Munich 2013.

The LTM 1070-4.2 has a lifting capacity of 70 tonnes at 2.5 metre radius and an 11 to 50 metre telescopic boom.

The maximum length of the lattice jib is 16 m. The crane is powered by a Liebherr 6-cylinder, turbo-diesel and produces 270 kW. It has a total counterweight of 14.5 tonnes.

Lalith Senarathne, Johnson Crane Hire managing director, attended the handover ceremony along with a dozen employees from his company.

Speaking on the new purchase, Senarathne said, “Our mission and our desire is to be the best lifting solutions company.

"It is our ambition. To help us achieve this we purchased the LTM 1070-4.2 plus a 750 tonne capacity Liebherr.”
