Mace has been awarded international BIM ISO 19650 accreditation

Global consultancy and construction company Mace has been awarded the new international ISO 19650 Building Information Modelling (BIM) accreditation.

Mace is one the first companies to be given the new BIM status. The company said the accreditation reflects the significant investment it has made in incorporating BIM into its operations.

Mark Reynolds, Mace CEO, said, “As the use of BIM becomes more widespread across the whole built environment life cycle it becomes more important than ever that organisations are appropriately accredited to provide these complex services.”

BIM processes, technology and software facilitate the design, construction, maintenance and decommissioning processes of a built environment. Its use allows for increased efficiencies and performance across the whole life-cycle of a built environment asset.

The ISO 19650 is an international version of the current UK 1192 standards and the UK government’s BIM Level 2 mandate.

Reynolds added, “The creation of the new standard and its link to the existing UK’s Government’s BIM mandate is a clear endorsement of the UK’s progressive approach to delivering innovation in construction. It will help to support the growing export market for UK consultancy and construction services.”
