Graphical symbols for use on equipment, from the ISO

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has produced a DVD: ISO 7000, Graphical symbols for use on equipment and an updated CD-rom of the published ISO 14617, Graphical symbols for diagrams suite of standards.

The DVD contains more than 2,400 of ISO 7000:2004 graphical symbols, suitable for all types of equipment, from automobiles, textile machinery, home entertainment equipment to earthmoving machinery.

With additional. dwg, tif and eps format versions of the files, it does not need to be installed onto a computer and contains easy-to- use search functions, including the standard's number, name, keyword, technical committee and subcommittee, publication and date of release, as well as information about the meaning and use of each symbol in English and French.

It is mainly intended for end-users who may need to include a symbol as part of a product or for ISO standards developers, particularly any technical committee requiring graphic symbols for a product standard. To order, telephone: +41 22 749 03 36, fax: +41 22 749 09 47 or e-mail: sales@iso.org
