Riwal provides BIM models

05 July 2019

Riwal has created an online library of branded BIM (building information modelling) models of machines in its fleet.

The 3D machine models come from manufacturers such as JLG, Genie, Skyjack and Niftylift, and as an ongoing project, Riwal will continue adding all the machines in its fleet that have available BIM files.

So far, 30 models have been added to Riwal’s BIM library, but more will be added over time

The 30 files that have been created so far can be found for free online at bimobject.com or on Riwal’s website. They can also be accessed via the My Riwal customer portal.

Since the models are to scale, they can be used in combination with other BIM files to create realistic 3D models of construction sites, enabling contractors to create plans that are more realistic and predict where machines will be needed.

Additionally, Riwal has in-house consultants who can advise customers during a project’s development phase about which aerial work platforms are best suited to their needs.

René Timmers, Riwal Chief Financial Officer and responsible for Digital and IT developments, said, “Riwal places a strong emphasis on innovation, and we believe that these BIM models will help our customers to plan out their work more efficiently. By advising our customers on projects using BIM technology, we aim to make our customers’ jobs easier and more efficient, helping us to provide the best customer experience in the industry.”
