One of China’s newer aerial platform manufacturers, Shenzhen Gaoli Aerial Work Equipment, is building a new production facility that will more than double its scissor lift production capacity.

Just five years old and founded by Mr Wen Bu Ru, Shenzhen Gaoli currently operates from a 7000 m2 facility in Shenzhen - China’s fourth largest city – but is now building a 20000 m2 factory in Shaoguan, a smaller city close to Shenzhen.

Mr Han Wen, son of the founder and financial manager of the company, told Access International that Gaoli would move into the new factory before the middle of 2016. The facility is currently under construction.

Shenzhen Gaoli makes a wide range of electric scissors under the Gorly brand. It has been selling mainly in China and some South East Asian countries, and the increased capacity will allow it to meet the growing demand for scissors in China. Its current production capacity is around 800 units per year.

At the BICES show in Beijing the company showed its first scissor lift powered by lithium ion batteries, the JCPT1612 model. Mr Wen said the aim was to change to lithium ion batteries for all of its scissors, over time.

He said the company was also planning larger, rough terrain electric scissors, as well as booms; “We will have booms, but not for a few years. At this time we are focussed on scissor lifts.”

The company joined IPAF earlier this year.
