US crane manufacturer Shuttlelift has a new series of double-beam mobile gantry cranes.

The rubber-tyred DB Series is available in six models, from the 60,000 pound (27 tonne) capacity DB 30 to the 400,000 pound (181 tonne) capacity DB 200. The 140,000 pound (63.5 tonne) capacity DB 70, in standard configuration, has a hook height of 25 feet (7.62 metres). Its clear span is 35 feet (10.67 m) and it is has a 27 foot (8.23 m) wheelbase.

The DB series "was engineered in response to a growing need in the marketplace for cost effective lifting solutions for consumers needing to lift heavy, bulky items from production to transport," the manufacturer said.

Plant managers have many choices of on-site material handling equipment. According to Kurt Minten, Shuttlelift director of industrial sales, "they want a machine that is efficient, versatile, and that will not only do the job but be easy to maintain and operate. These are important factors to a business when you want to find a complete lifting solution that will fit your specific needs."

The DB series completes the Shuttlelift lineup of mobile gantry cranes for all markets and applications. It follows the ISL and SL Series and the SB series released in 2010.

Standard features include electro-hydraulic controls for all functions, closed loop hydrostatic drive, low mounted, large diameter grooved hoist drum and enclosed operator cab. Options include wireless remote control, automatic variable throttle, wireless load read out, all wheel electronic steering, and auxiliary power hoist system.
