AFI-Uplift has invested in two massive Holland Lift Megastar scissor lifts with working heights of 33.7 m. At the other end of the height spectrum, the company has added 20 of Youngman Group's BoSS X3 2.55 m platform height models to its fleet.

AFI managing director Richard Saunders said AFI was making the investments in response to customer demand at both ends of the working at height range.

The Megastar is a 4 wheel drive and 4 wheel steer machine, weighing 31.2 t and with a 1000 kg platform capacity and platform dimensions of 2.8 m by 6.66 m (with a 3 m deck extension).

The BoSS X3 is a micro platform designed for tasks including general maintenance, cleaning, painting and fit and strip out work. It fits through standard doorways and into passenger lifts, with a stowed height of 1.80 m and a stowed length of 1.23 m.

AFI-Uplift has a fleet of more than 4300 units at 17 depots in the UK.
