Two specially–adapted Hydro Mobile F–Series mast climbers linked together were used to lift two replacement water tanks weighing 6.8 t to the top of the 120 m high Marie Guillart Building in the centre of Quebec, Canada. The climbers were used rather than conventional mobile cranes or a cargo helicopter. “The cost of using mast climbers for the work was less than half that for craning the tanks into position and could be carried out without disrupting traffic”, says Hydro Mobile president Vincent Dequoy.
