Bifocal safety eyewear

22 May 2008

To meet the needs of an aging workforce, Gateway Safety offers two styles of bifocal safety eyewear, each in four dioptre strengths: 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, and 2.5. Bifocal safety lenses provide close focus for those with presbyopia. The company explained that providing workers with bifocal eye protection avoids the hazardous practice of switching back and forth between their regular safety glasses and reading glasses to read instrumentation, work with small parts, or perform other tasks that could produce eye strain.

“The eyewear provides greater flexibility in the types of tasks that older workers can perform, thus helping to reduce eyestrain and improve compliance. Designed for comfort, the glasses offer adjustable length, ratcheting temples and a soft “fingertip” nosepiece,” added the company.
