Big Yongmao launches at Bauma China

New from tower crane manufacturer Yongmao are a 100 tonne topless (flat top) and a 64 tonne capacity luffing jib tower crane. The Chinese manufacturer displayed the new high capacity models at the Bauma China construction equipment exhibition in Shanghai, late November.
The range-topping STT 2200 flat top has a maximum 70 metre jib at the end of which the capacity is 27.2 tonnes. Maximum freestanding height is 92 m. An 80 tonne capacity version is also available. On show was the first unit built, tested and ready to go.
The luffing jib STL 1460C also has a maximum 70 m jib and the capacity at the end of it is 6.3 tonnes. Maximum free standing height with 70 m jib is 60 m. Diesel power, denoted by the “C” in the naming nomenclature, is a notable feature of this new model. Power is from a hydraulic power pack driven by a 360 kW Deutz engine. The unit on show at Bauma China was sold to Tat Hong to use on a high rise construction project.
A larger luffing jib model, the 100 tonne capacity STL 2400C, has been built and is undergoing testing at the Yongmao factory. Its maximum boom length is 80 m at the end of which it will lift 13 tonnes. Maximum freestanding height is 56 m.
The new large tower crane models are part of Yongmao’s new emphasis on offering larger tower cranes, in the 300 tonne-metre and higher range, Jonas Tan at Yongmao told IC at the Bauma China exhibition.
