BigRentz partners with Solar Technology

11 November 2015

Online equipment rental company BigRentz has partnered with Solar Technology to use fleet telematics on its network of over 7000 construction equipment yards across the US.

BigRentz said the partnership and technology integration would see its network use Solar Technology’s fleet management solution GPS tracking technology, allowing fleets to be monitored and managed.

The companies said SolarTrak, an active mobile unit, would provide fleet managers with accurate satellite GPS data on location of their equipment in the field.

In addition to location, the unit records engine hours for efficient billing and maintenance purposes, offers Geofencing capabilities, and battery voltage monitoring, all of which managers can easily and securely access from their desktop or smartphone.

Dallas Imbimbo, co-founder and CEO of BigRentz, said the partnership was the first step in bringing industry-changing technology to equipment rental.

“We believe this integration is a perfect fit for our network because it offers our suppliers a state-of-the-art way to manage their fleet as business with BigRentz increases their rentals,” he said.

BigRentz works with over 1200 equipment suppliers to provide a ‘one-stop shop’ for scissor lifts, boom lifts, forklifts, backhoes, excavators, jobsite services, and other construction equipment rentals.

Ed O’Donnell, vice president of sales and business development for SolarTrak, added, “Solar Technology is excited to partner with BigRentz, providing them our efficiency boosting technology to better serve their customers and supplier partners.

“The SolarTrak solution will allow the many BigRentz supplier partners (construction equipment rental yards) across the country to more effectively manage their fleets of equipment while increasing their business opportunities from BigRentz.”
