Blackwood Engineering is celebrating its 75th anniversary with the launch of a new icon.

The Wales-based company, which manufactures castings and counterweights for construction machinery, said the anniversary-themed logo marks the firm’s continued growth and that it would be used for the rest of 2021.

Since its founding in 1946, the company has expanded its practices into Europe and Asia and its services now include stock financing, engineering project management, inventory control and warehousing.

The landmark anniversary will also see the company run several campaigns and launch a range of new initiatives designed to continue its growth.

Dominic Connor, Commercial director of Blackwood Engineering, said, “The company has a proud heritage in the foundry industry. We have come a long way from the early days of being a local foundry in Blackwood, South Wales, producing castings for the domestic market, to now where we are shipping parts to major global manufacturers across the world on a weekly basis.

With a fantastic team on board, we are optimistic the future holds equally exciting opportunities for the company to continue its journey”.

The past 25 years have seen Blackwood form “meaningful long-standing partnerships” with both Indian and Chinese foundries. In recognition of the contributions made by its partner businesses, the company launched the Blackwood Engineering Trust in 2015.

The charitable organisation works to support the local communities and orphanages is the areas surrounding the Blackwood’s facilities in India, Belgium, China and the UK.
