According to Nors, the purchase will increase its Canadian market footprint, pushing its regional presence further west into the provinces of British Columbia and Yukon.

Headquartered in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada, Nors will add around 250 employees across 11 locations from Great West, which has been a Volvo CE dealer since 2002.

“We believe that Great West Equipment will benefit from the global presence and growth momentum that Nors is experiencing, combined with our 90 years of experience, thus boosting its performance and promoting its future growth,” said Tomás Jervell, group CEO of Nors.

In addition to heavy equipment, Nors also providers Volvo trucks, buses, cars, and marine and industrial engines in 17 countries located on four continents.

The transaction closed on March 1 with Great West now a wholly owned subsidiary of Nors.

Nors acquired its first Canada-based company, Strongco Corporation in Ontario, in 2020. Strongco is a heavy equipment dealer and machinery parts, certification, and service provider located in the southeastern part of the country.
