Carbon emissions calculator for construction

ProjectPay, a building and construction industry payments platform, has partnered with digital product creators Komodo to build a carbon emissions calculator for the construction sector.

The calculator, released in early August, is said to break down Scope 3 embodied carbon emissions across the supply chain to give contractors a better understanding of their environmental impact and how to reduce it.

The project will design and build a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for ProjectPay’s carbon emissions calculator. The company says that the development will add to the functionality of the existing ProjectPay construction sector payments platform, which uses Lloyds project accounts to protect payments from contractor collapse.

Chris Jones, client services manager at Komodo Digital, says, “Project Pay are a company that is transforming the construction industry for the better, to eradicate late payments and provide small business and trade subcontractors with payment certainty.

ProjectPay’s vision and determination to bring their new product to market whilst simultaneously increasing the user experience of their existing platform was infectious. Match all of this with an ambitious, down to earth team and we knew this was something we wanted to get involved with, to help make it a success.”
