Cat Entertainment Services (Cat ES), the events rental business operated by Ring Power in the US, has been designed by Caterpillar as a global supplier of temporary power and temperature control equipment for major events and production projects.

The agreement will see Cat ES expand its business internationally by cooperating with Cat Rental Power businesses around the world in the events, broadcast, convention and entertainment industries.

Caterpillar said the business would work "collaboratively with the Cat Rental Power network" to supply equipment and services for major events.

Created by Ring Power in 2000 and with its headquarters in St Augustine, Florida, Cat ES provides power and air conditioning rental for sporting events, concerts, music festivals, the entertainment industry, mainly in North America but also worldwide.

It is the second power rental agreement that Caterpillar has signed recently with Ring Power. Last year it agreed a five year deal with Ring Power and APR Energy covering international power rental projects, particularly in the world's emerging markets.

Bill Rohner, Caterpillar vice president with responsibility for the electric power division, said; "Cat Entertainment Services is a leader in providing temporary power generation and temperature control for events, broadcasts and the movie industry in North America.

"Caterpillar is excited to support Cat Entertainment Services as it expands its role in the major international events market."

Recent clients for Cat ES include the World Series, the Super Bowl, Formula 1, NASCAR and Cirque du Soleil.

In addition to its St Augustine base, Cat ES has offices in Orlando, Tampa, Dallas, Los Angeles, Kenilworth (NJ) and North Kingstown (Rhode Island).
