Caterpillar's new TH514 telehandler has a load capacity of 11000 lbs (4.99 tonne) with a forward reach of 30 ft, 3" (9.22 m). With stablizers down, the machine can provide a 45-ft (13.72 m) lift height.

Cat said the unit has load-sensing, flow-sharing hydraulics that allow all three boom functions to be operated at the same time and proportionally. As standard, a limited slip differential fitted in the front axle allows the machine to work effectively in rough terrain.

The 101 hp Cat C4.4 DITAAC mechanical control, turbo-charged engine is certified to Tier 3 regulations and is designed, Cat said, to provide "excellent power and torque levels."

Operators will enjoy an improved heating and ventilation system with air conditioning as an option. A single lever joystick features roller switches and all controls are fully proportional. The cab also features a LCD display.

"Field feedback has been very positive," said Ky Kuehling, vice president product parent, Cat telehandlers.

"Operators like the machine's power, how quiet it is when in operation, its single joystick controls with smooth boom in/out and up/down functions, and overall ground clearance. And with the machine's low boom pivot, it gives the operator the visibility he needs to place loads with precision."
