Changes at Red Rhino as owner takes control

Red Rhino's principal owner Bryan Eccles has reorganised the company after it entered bankruptcy on 20 October. Mr Eccles formed a new company, Recycling Products Limited, to buy the assets of the mobile crushing specialist and said Red Rhino was running normally.

Mr Eccles, who has been principle investor since Red Rhino's founding, is now chief executive and sole director and owner of the new company. Paul Harris, previously chairman, and Tim Mitchell, managing director, are no longer with the company.

"The company had good sales last year, it should have made good money", Mr Eccles told IRN, "Sales enquiries are up 25% this year." He said he was interested in merging Red Rhino "with a suitable company in a similar field."

Red Rhino is concentrating on the 1.5 t Red Rhino 4000, 3 t 5000, and 9.5 t 7000 models, having crushing capacities of 4 - 40 t/hr. The Aylesbury-based company no longer offers the Cub, bucket attachment, and tractor 3-point tractor hook-up models, which it more recently released.

The owner/manager said the mobile crushing business is spreading worldwide. "There is a strong economic argument for it, but the number of countries becoming involved because of environmental concerns is surprising," he said.
