Commhoist expands with Liebherr
18 April 2017
UK logistics and lifting specialist Commhoist has taken delivery of a new Liebherr LTM 1040-2.1 wheeled mobile telescopic crane, with two LTM 1060-3.1 mobile cranes and an LTM 1130-5.1 mobile to follow later in 2017. Once this has happened, Commhoist will have a total of 59 Liebherr cranes.
Liebherr said the LTM 1040-2.1 is a compact two-axle crane with a capacity of 40 tonnes. It has a 35 metre, continuously variable four-section telescopic boom that uses a hydro-mechanical telescoping system to extend to the required length. The telescoping operation can also be performed under load. It has a Stage IV / Tier 4 Final EU emission standards compliant Mercedes engine and pneumatic disc brakes are now fitted as standard on this model.
The LTM 1060-3.1, two of which will arrive later in 2017, has a compact three-axle chassis. A five-section main boom gives a maximum operating height of 48 m which, on Commhoist’s new cranes, will be increased with the installation of the optional fly jib. In the UK the LTM 1060-3.1 can travel with all 12.8 tonnes of counterweight and a double fly jib and remain within STGO regulations.
The LTM 1130-5.1 lifts 130 tonnes and a offers a maximum lifting height of 91 m. Liebherr says the compact dimensions of this 130 tonne crane mean it can manoeuvre around confined work sites.
Commhoist has ordered all its new Liebherr cranes with a full specification, including fly jibs and the VarioBase system.
