Construction starts on India Tower

Construction has started on India Tower, a new 301 m high hotel, shopping and residential development designed by Fox and Fowle (FXFOWLE) Architects.

Located in South Mumbai, India, and developed by D B Hospitality Private, it will be an “environmentally responsible, high end shopping, dining, and entertainment complex” that, according to the developer will set “a high standard for future architecture and design projects in the country.”

Designed to have the least possible impact on the environment it is aiming for a Gold rating under the US's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System. Construction is expected to be completed in 2010.
