Delachaux buys Wampfler

France-based Delachaux will take over its German rival Wampfler in January 2007. A deal has been agreed between the two component manufacturers for industrial EOT and dockside cranes for an undisclosed price.

Wampfler AG and Conductix (the Delachaux branch for energy and data transmission) will be merged into a single division in the Dalachaux group.

A two-year transition period is forecast for Wampfler to become fully integrated with Delachaux but both companies said that, after this, the new entity would be, “the clear world market leader for energy and data transmission.”

Wampfler chairman Stefan Ziegler and financial director Christopher Friedrich will continue in their positions after the merger and take places on the board of the expanded energy and data transmission division of Delachaux after the two year integration period.
