Chris Sleight to kick off contech webinar with Euro market overview

Chris Sleight, managing director of Off-Highway Research, is set to deliver insight into the state of the European construction market at KHL’s latest construction technology webinar on Thursday, September 30.

Chris Sleight, Off-Highway Research Chris Sleight is a regular conference speaker and one of the world’s leading authorities on global construction equipment markets

The event – Finding Treasures in the Dirt: Using Tech to Unearth Greater Profits – will commence at 3pm (CET) and will be hosted by the editor of Construction Europe magazine, Mike Hayes.

Sleight will examine today’s construction market, through the lens of current equipment sales, as well as forecasting its short- and medium-term future.

He will also give his own take on how major global events impacting the European economy – such as the war in Ukraine and US tariffs – might affect the adoption of advanced machine-based technology.

Breaking new ground

Also speaking at the webinar will be Wayne Barr, construction director with the Scotland-based contractor Ground Developments (GDL).

Barr will look at machine-based and other advanced technology currently being used by GDL to minimise rework and maximise profits.

He will also demonstrate live during the event, how new plans can be uploaded to machines on site in real time, ensuring all operators are constantly working at optimal levels, no matter the volume of earth to be moved.

The third panel member is Didier Colin, a senior director from the construction tech specialist Trimble.

Colin will give insight into how machine technology can help contractors meet the demands of modern projects.

He will also discuss systems designed to optimise results from mixed-fleet operations.
