Flossdorf expands with Liebherr

11 July 2017

German lifting and transport specialist Dietmar Flossdorf has taken delivery of a Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1 wheeled mobile telescopic crane. It replaces the company’s seven-year-old LTM 1350-6.1 on a six axle carrier. According to Liebherr, the LTM 1500-8.1 is the first eight-axle crane in the Flossdorf fleet. With a capacity of 500 tonnes it will be used, among other places, in the wind power sector for repairs and repowering.

According to Stephan Wassmuth, Flossdorf operations manager, “The new crane represents the perfect next step into the large crane class. As a result of the new challenges we face in the wind power industry, the seven-year-old LTM 1350-6.1 has reached the limits of its capacity. The new 500 tonne crane will give us more opportunities to tackle repair work and repowering jobs on wind turbines which will mean that the crane will extend our range of services.”
