Gap continues Scottish expansion

04 September 2020

UK-based Gap Hire Solutions is expanding its operations in Scotland.

The GAP Group hosted the first meeting.

The Glasgow-headquartered company recently relocated two of its depots and is in search of a new 8 acre site in the central belt of Scotland.

Gap recently spent £1.7 million relocating its Elgin facility to a new 3 acre site, from which it now supplies customers in the Moray region and further afield with machines, tools, trenching and shoring equipment, welfare units and tanker services

Meanwhile, the company’s Inverness depot has also been moved to a new 1.5 acre site at a cost of £1.4 million. Four divisions are operating out of this location – Plant, Tools, Lifting and Survey.

In recent years, Gap has also been expanding its product offering with the intention of providing customers with a single point of contact for all their equipment needs.

For example, at the beginning of 2020, Gap announced a £2 million investment in its Tanker Services division, which offers a range of emptying and cleaning options for septic and wastewater tanks. It now has a fleet of welfare tankers ranging from 3.5 to 26 tonnes.

Prior to this, Gap established a Trenching and Shoring division after acquiring MV Trench Support in 2018.
