German Design Award for Liebherr

Liebherr has won a 2018 German Design Award in the Excellent Product Design category for its XPower L 550 to L 586 wheeled loaders.

The award was presented at a ceremony in Frankfurt and the company’s T46-7 telescopic handler was similarly honoured.

There were more than 5,000 entries for the latest awards, which took two days to judge and is described as one of the world’s most highly recognised design competitions.

The judges said they were impressed by the “intelligent and functional” design of the wheeled loaders, which differ from their conventional counterparts.

According to Liebherr, the design development phase focused on a powerful appearance and particularly on functionality and user friendliness, particularly in terms of the rear of the loader and the driver’s cab.
