The Haulotte Australia team is celebrating after it picked up two prizes at this year’s Hire Industry Excellence Awards, which recently took place in Gold Coast, Australia.

The company, a subsidiary of France-based group Haulotte, won the award for Best Supplier of the Year for the second year in a row.

The awards were held at the W Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa as part of the HIRE21 rental equipment exhibition. The two day event is organised annually by Australia’s Hire and Rental Industry Association (HRIA) and showcases the latest technology and equipment in the construction industry rental market.

Keith Clarke, general manager of Haulotte Australia, said, “It’s an honor to receive these prizes. It rewards all the hard work from our team around the country. Thanks to our customers for their support to the Haulotte brand.”

The company, which launched its Sherpal telematics system for aerial platform equipment fleets earlier this year, was also presented with the Best Product of the Year accolade for its fully electric HS18E Pro scissor lift.

The HS18E Pro model was launched by the international manufacturer just last year as part of its PULSEO equipment range. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications, the scissor lift model offers silent operation and is said to produce no harmful emissions. It has a working height of 18m and is equipped with Haulotte’s Activ’Screen configuration and diagnostic display.

Damien Gautier, managing director of the APAC area, said, “Haulotte’s fully electric HS15 E PRO scissor lift demonstrated the group’s commitment to offer ever more environmentally friendly equipment.”

Clarke added, “As a nation, we place a high value on our amazing landscape, flora and fauna, yet we have not made a commitment to reduce emissions from our NRMM vehicles. Australian cities could lead the way in committing to electric machines for dedicated green zones.”

While a full list of awards winners has yet to be published by the Hire Industry Excellence Awards, software specialist Point of Rental has announced its first win at the industry event.

The company picked up the prize for Best New Product in General Hire for its Rental eSign & Pay contactless software, which allows rental firms to send and collect signatures remotely via email.

When the Covid-19 pandemic began the company modified the product so that it could be used by any hire business, regardless of which hire software they use. Point of Rental also offered it to companies free of charge for three months.

Wayne Harris, CEO at Point of Rental, said, “2020 was a tough year; it forced a lot of innovation, problem-solving, and working together.

“We’re glad that so many people found eSign & Pay to be helpful, and we look forward to building and innovating together again in 2021.”
