Hewden holds major equipment auction on 16 September

By Murray Pollok07 August 2009

UK rental company Hewden will hold a used equipment auction in September that it claimed is Europe's largest ‘direct from user' sale.

The auction, being held in Harrogate, UK, on 16 September is expected to be one of the largest ever since Hewden started its annual auctions 10 years ago. The equipment for sale includes cranes (models as yet unspecified), 28 telehandlers, 80 aerial platforms, 37 site dumpers, 80 mini- and midi-excavators, 25 compressors, 19 welding units and over 20 bowsers/tanks.

Much of the equipment is Caterpillar - Hewden is owned by Cat dealer Finning - but the aerial platforms are typically 10 year old Genie, JLG and Skyjack models. The compressors are mainly Ingersoll Rand and Atlas Copco models and the dumpers are Benford and Thwaites.

Details of the auction, which is being run for Hewden by auctioneers Thimbleby & Shorland, can be found at www.thehewdenauction.com
