Bob Hund has been promoted with the addition of Manitowoc Crane Care to his existing portfolio of responsibility. He adds the title executive vice president of Manitowoc Crane Care, Manitowoc's customer service division. His existing responsibilities of leading Manitowoc's worldwide marketing and project management teams and will continue.
"Bob has held a variety of product support, marketing, engineering and manufacturing leadership roles in the construction equipment industry for the past 22 years," he said. "His extended assignments in Asia, Europe and North America have further prepared him to take on this global leadership position," said Eric Etchart, president and general manager at Manitowoc Cranes.
Hund replaces Larry Bryce, who is moving to Manitowoc Foodservice, a Manitowoc Cranes sister company.
In another move, Manitowoc has created a new division for global sales of its used cranes. Thibaut Le Besnerais will head this division as vice president of used crane sales and special application cranes. In addition to selling used crawler, mobile and tower cranes, the new division will also manage sales of Potain special application tower cranes and some other project-based activities, Manitowoc said.
Explaining the company's rationale for the new division, Frans Vanwinkel, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Manitowoc's Europe, Middle East and Africa region, said, "We see some solid opportunities for selling high-quality used Manitowoc cranes into a number of developing markets, and this is just one of the strategies Thibaut will be working on. We also see more opportunities for our large special application tower cranes as more infrastructure projects come in the wake of government stimulus packages around the world. By adapting to the changing market and creating this new division, we are able to meet customer needs faster and more efficiently."
Le Besnerais joined Manitowoc in 1996. Most recently he was general manager of Manitowoc Crane Care for EMEA.
