Italian truck mount manufacturer Isoli has achieved EU type approval for two of its 3.5 tonne lifts.

Isoli has achieved European Community Small Series Type Approval (ECSSTA) for its 22.5 metre PT225 and 20 metre PNT205 (N, NH and NLX) lifts mounted on Nissan Cabstar 3.5 tonne GVW chassis. It is one of the first OEMs to take this step, after the EU legislation changed last year.

Gabriele Valli, Isoli’s sales manager, said, “Isoli is one of the few companies that has obtained such approval and is part of our strategy to achieve high standards of quality and technology for our machines for an increasingly demanding market.”

The requirements for registering 3.5 tonne and under LCVs in Europe changed in 2013, with all new vehicles now subject to testing, certification and production conformity by a third party.

Certification allows the vehicles to be registered and sold throughout the EU, including the UK, without further inspection. ECSSTA is for vehicles with annual production runs of less than 1000 units; larger OEMs must apply for whole vehicle type approval.

Isoli appointed Access Platform Sales (APS) as its new exclusive UK distributor in June 2013. Since that time the company has sold a number of machines on 3.5 tonne and 4.5 tonne chassis, and currently has two demonstration units available for customers to evaluate.

The 20 m working height PNT 205NH on a 3.5t LWB Nissan Cabstar chassis and new arrival, the PNT205NLX, another 20 m working height dual pantograph machine on a 3.5 tonne Cabstar. The next demonstrator scheduled is the 23 m PNT230 on a 4.5 tonne chassis.
