Kalmars for Venezuelan port

20 March 2013

Cargo and load handling company Kalmar has secured an order for port equipment to Venezuela's government-owned port operator Bolivariana de Puertos (Bolipuertos), S.A.

The order consists of one zero emission rubber-tyred gantry crane, 30 Kalmar reachstackers, four empty container handlers, eight heavy forklifts, nine light forklifts, seven heavy terminal tractors and 41 medium terminal tractors.

The order is one of the largest single port equipment contracts to be delivered to Bolipuertos by Kalmar. It is part of the investment from the Venezuelan government into the two main non petroleum export ports Puerto Cabello and La Guaira.

Deliveries begin in May 2013.
