Kennards Hire New Zealand branch wins Gold Award

17 August 2015

Kennards Hire’s flagship branch in Albany, New Zealand has been awarded a Gold Hire Excellence Award by the Hire Industry Association of New Zealand (HIANZ).

The association recognises branches demonstrating innovative layouts and internal structures, strong and prominent branding, a commitment to customer service and operational efficiency.

Nic Taylor, branch manager at Kennards Hire in Albany, accepted the award from HIANZ, and said: “Kennards Hire is a long standing family business in Australia, but our presence in New Zealand dates back only three years.

“We’ve made a really concerted effort to make an impact on the rental industry in that time, and this award is a wonderful acknowledgement of the hard work that countless staff members have put in throughout the company’s time here.”

Kennards Hire established a presence in New Zealand when it acquired McEntee Hire. After an Auckland-wide rebrand, Kennards expanded into Wellington, opening a new branch in Newtown. Last year it entered the South Island through acquiring City Hire, a three-branch hire company in Christchurch.

“Kennards Hire is, first and foremost, a family business," said Tom Kimber, the northern area nanager for Kennards Hire NZ.

"HIANZ does an excellent job at upholding many of the values that we consider fundamental in the operation of our business, across the entire industry. It’s a special moment for Kennards Hire in New Zealand, and for Nic and his team in Albany.”
