The 8.5 t machine is equipped with a 2.4 litre EU Stage V engine and, according to McHale, delivers faster working speed, greater productivity and lower fuel consumption.

The low-consumption engine is fitted with a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) which doesn’t require a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR), according to Komatsu.

The company says fuel consumption is reduced by 6%, while a 7% increase in productivity based on faster hoist and swing functions is achieved with the PC88MR-11.

The PC88MR-11 also comes with a tight tail swing, which is said to allow operators to work without fear of rear-swing impacts, and a 20 mm (0.8 in) reduction in transport height.

Other features include a redesigned blade for better dozing; an automatic safe, fast and versatile two-way change-over valve for improved comfort when changing and a 14% increase in levelling speed.

According to Denis McGrath, sales director of McHale, the machine has “the feeling of a faster excavator” and is a “versatile solution, ideal even in confined areas.”
