Last call for first IPAF UK member event

A hundred people have booked to attend IPAF’s first UK member event on 6 September 2013 at the Northampton Marriott Hotel and Pr1mo International Raceway Northampton.

Attendees can look forward to learning sessions in the morning and industry banger racing in the afternoon, with close to 20 cars raring to go at the starting line.

IPAF president Steve Couling will welcome members at this inaugural event and Peter Douglas, chairman of the IPAF UK Country Council, will present the work that the UK Country Council has accomplished in its first year.

IPAF technical officer Chris Wraith will speak on “Keeping your depot safe”, while John Robertson from AFI-Uplift will challenge the audience with the topic, “Are you a salesperson for your company?”

Other speakers are David Meeke from Highway Plant, who will discuss pre-delivery inspections and thorough inspections, and Leigh Sparrow from the Vertikal Press, who will highlight new developments in the industry.

After lunch, attendees will be taken in coaches to the racetrack and the drivers taking part in the banger racing will be given a safety briefing. Competition will be tough in this test of speed and skill.

Member companies who will face off in the race include: Facelift Access Hire, Haulotte, Independent Parts & Service, Lifterz, Manitou, Nationwide Platforms, Niftylift, Skyjack and TIME – Versalift. There will also be an IPAF team car, so watch out for that snazzy speedster with the yellow logo.

The day will end with relaxed networking over a barbeque supper.
