German crane specialist Warnowkran has taken delivery of Liebherr's 2,000th LTM 1030-2.1 all terrain mobile crane.

The new 35 tonner, which rolled off the production line at Liebherr's Ehingen plant in February, replaces Warnowkran's 20-year-old Liebherr LTM 1025. The company plans to use the crane, with its 30 metre telescopic boom, for placing ceilings and building roof structures.

At 2,000 units, the two-axle LTM 1030-2.1 has become the most successful model of all terrain mobile crane, Liebherr said. Launched at the Intermat construction equipment show in 1997, it was the first mobile crane in the world to have data bus transfer technology. The 35 tonner also marked the introduction of a new cab interior, with the display units arranged in a semi-circle. A film keyboard was also used for the first time for the dash board controls.
