A Liebherr 34K tower crane went by cable car to the mountain job site

An unusual mode of transport was used to move a small tower crane to its jobsite in the Swiss Alps.

The Murtèl mid-way station on Piz Corvatsch, St. Moritz, is being extended by construction company Nicol. Hartmann & Cie. AG at an altitude of more than 2,700 m. Moving the crane from the Surlej valley station to the Murtèl midway point was a challenge.

The complete Liebherr 34 K fast erecting crane was suspended from a cable car gondola near St. Moritz on the Corvatsch cable car system.
