Link–Belt has unveiled the first, and largest, of what will be a four model range of high reach demolition excavators in the shape of the 700LX high reach. The new machine can carry a 33.5 m (110 ft) demolition boom that can carry a maximum tool weight of 3,636 kg (8,000 lb).

Fabricated by Jewell, using Link–Belt specified components such as hydraulic cylinders, the boom comes with a quick connect to allow rapid changes between demolition configuration and standard two piece boom, mounted in straight or curved configurations for working at ground level, to provide additional versatility. The machine can also carry a 19.8 m (65 ft) material handling boom.

The carrier is equipped with heavy duty catwalks, belly pans, swivel guard and travel motors to minimise potential damage from jobsite debris.

To improve visibility at the tool, the cab of the machine can be hydraulically elevated to a height of 2.2 m (7 ft), as well as tilting to an angle of 35° (see picture below). In addition, a boom–mounted video camera option is available to further improve vision at the tool.
