Multitel Pagliero has used a MJ 685 telescopic truck mounted platform on a high rise project at the San Nicola stadium in Bari, Italy.

The unit was used to replace the leds and dismantle and reassemble the stadium’s display screen. Local rental company Go Up, which has more than 100 units in its fleet, supplied the 68.7m working height platform, which was a recent investment.

It is the tallest platforms allowed on public roads, yet had to enter the stadium through the 4-metre heig access tunnel - the same size as the closed machine. This did not stop the Go UP technicians, who, with the help of a specialised mobile unit, lowered the tyre pressure to allow the machine to pass. Pressure was re-established once the delicate and precise manoeuvre had been carried out.

Finally inside, the MJ 685 was able to deploy its horizontal reach of 17m at working height of 44m, while for the disassembly and assembly of the giant screen it descended to a height of 36m, but with an outreach of 26m. In both operations, the maximum weight in the basket was 280 kg.

With a single positioning, the customer was able to work on the entire maxi-screen, which measures 8.8m x 5.28m. This was enabled by the turret’s 360° continuous rotation its the self-levelling basket with 90°+90° rotation, which made it possible to get around any obstacles.

The full- proportional electro-hydraulic controls, which regulate the speed of extension, elevation, descent and rotation, both from the control panel on the basket and on at ground level, provided smooth operartion. Technical qualities that make the MJ 685 Multitel Pagliero the favourite choice of the biggest Italian rental players.
