New Holland trials dealer rental

23 April 2008

New Holland is trialing a dealer rental business in Unna, Germany, with 40 machines currently in the fleet.

Nicola Cirilli, European rental manager for New Holland, told IRN that the rental business is located at a New Holland-owned dealer location at Unna, near Dortmund, and is currently operated under the New Holland Rental Park name, although that is not the final name for the company's dealer rental business.

The business started in January and Mr Cirilli said; "It's going very well. We have a 70% utilisation rate. Customers see that we have a new fleet". The initial fleet comprises New Holland machines, but additional non-NH machines will be added.

Mr Cirilli said the plan was for other New Holland dealers to start offering rental services, although not in the UK. He said the intention was for New Holland dealers to pool their fleets and also to create shared resources, such as rental call centres.

New Holland promoted the dealer rental plan to around 110 dealers at a special meeting in Brescia during the recent Samoter exhibition in Verona.
